Sip the Sweet Nectar

Sip the Sweet Nectar of Life

As I sat down to write this blog, the first hummingbird of the season flew right in front of me—pausing briefly and curiously before zipping away. This tiny creature’s “hello” instantly reminded me of its medicine.

If you’ve ever had a close encounter with a hummingbird, you’ve likely felt the magic of its vibration move through your body. These little beings bring a sense of uplifting optimism each spring, with their iridescent colors, quick and playful movements, and delicate chirps. Whether sipping the sweet nectar of life or pollinating blooming spring flowers, they remind us of life’s joy and vitality.

Taurus season aligns beautifully with this energy. On one end of its spectrum, Taurus invites us to indulge in full-bodied pleasure through the senses—touch, taste, beauty, stillness. Yet on the other end, its strong focus on self-sufficiency and work can harden into rigidity, dulling our awareness of that very pleasure.

If this Taurus spectrum were laid before you, where would you land? Do you live in balance? Or are you craving some?

The Middle Way

Born under a full moon in Taurus, the Buddha taught about balance through the concept of The Middle Way—a path of centered living amidst life’s extremes. He believed that we are the catalysts for our own balance.

All life is made of polarities. Feminine and masculine. Light and dark. Inhale and exhale. Without both sides, there would be no creation—no charge, no voltage, no life, no you. And if we don’t choose to harmonize these polarities within ourselves, life often steps in to do it for us.

Have you ever experienced a stretch of inspired, expansive energy only to be followed by a wave of chaos, heaviness, or emotional overwhelm?

Sometimes, yes, it’s karma. But often it’s simply life recalibrating. A natural rhythm pulling us back into balance.

So, take a moment now to return to center.

Breathe deep into your belly…

Then into your chest…

Now a little more into your shoulders.

Wherever you are, connect with nature. The oxygen you’re breathing—exhaled just for you by the plant kingdom. Feel that brief pulse of gratitude in your heart.

"We Are Our Own Masters. Seek the Truth Within."

This was the seed Buddha planted for humanity. At the core of that seed is perfect, unconditional love. Our earthly journey leads us through experiences that grow from that seed—each of us branching out in unique directions. When we connect to our deepest roots, we return to that original source of our truth.

In many ways, our root system mirrors the subconscious mind or our "control center." The center of our programs get installed during early childhood (up to age 8). The deepest level programs consist of our values. They drive unconscious behavior, thoughts, motivation and more. Values are how we evaluate the quality of our time, depending on the degree to which something aligns with or opposes our values. Most of us believe we know our values without realizing we're only scratching the surface of conscious awareness.

True clarity requires depth. It requires curiosity about what lies beneath—those early patterns we don’t even know we don’t know.

As Carl Jung once said:

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”

Have you ever started a goal strong, only to get derailed—by a sudden curveball, loss of momentum, or inner resistance? That’s the pull of subconscious programming. But the moment you become aware of it, you’re ready to explore it.

By learning how to build rapport between your conscious and subconscious mind, you have the opportunity for more autonomy with the subconscious currents directing your energy and to release and learn from obstacles installed during those early years. From that place, energy flows more naturally. Life becomes more fulfilling. You begin to taste the sweet nectar the hummingbird reminds us is always within reach—just waiting for you to return home and remember.

How to start?

There are countless tools and pathways to explore your subconscious. If you already feel drawn to one—follow that pull. And if you're seeking direction, I invite you to book a free 15-minute discovery call. Together, we’ll find your next aligned step on this beautiful journey inward.
